I THINK MY 27 TON TROYBILT LOG SPLITTER IS THE GREATEST.LIKE ANY PIECE OF EQUIPTMENT-MAINTAINING IT IS THE NAME OF THE GAME,THE ONLY WEAK SPOT I HAVE FOUND IS KEEPING THE ADJUSTMENT BOLTS THAT CENTERS THE WEDGE STREIGHT. IF NOT IT WILL STRIP THE THREDS IN SIDE THE WEDGE,THEREFORE TRASHING THE WEDGE.==CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THE SHAFTS ARE THE SAME ON A HONDA-GVC-160 ENGINE ON MY PREASSURE WASHER AND AND THE HONDA 5.5 CVC 160 THATS ON MY LOG SPLITER ??? NEED TO KNOW IF SAME,THEN I CAN KEEP AS SPARE FOR MY LOG SPLITER.THANK YOU KINDLY.

I wouldn’t recommend the CS-400

I purchased mine about a year ago. The initial quality and performance was there but it wasn’t long before i started running into problems with the bar & chain combo not cutting properly. Despite the fact that i’ve used premium gas and an acceptable lubricant for the gas-oil mix the motor siezed today. I doubt i’ve cut over ten cord with it in the past year.

After reading a series of other reviews I’m not going to bother with their 5 year warranty. A company either stands by it’s products with no excuses or it doesn’t.

If you’re looking for a throwaway saw at a reasonable price the CS-400 is probably allright but if you’re looking for quality and durability then look somewhere else.

It’s a shame … Echo used to be a good name in chainsaws. I had a comprable CS-4500 that i was more than satisfied with but this new saw turned out to be a real dog.

Fool me once ….

Really a useless piece of junk, if you want to mulch leaves thats about all its good for, the screws fall out it jams if you put more than a half inch twig in it . I get better results with my Craftsman blower/vac mulcher
