Ready for the big move? You may think you are, but before you do any packing, it is important to prepare your house to be sold. You want your home to be sold at a pretty good value, so it is important to present it in the best way possible.
To start with, you have to get rid of all the junk lying about the place. You may even have to find a temporary place for all the stuff you need to remove. By removing some of the clutter, you will make your house seem newer, bigger and sleeker.
As a rule of thumb, keep in mind that if you have not used something in over a year, you probably never will. Get rid of everything you do not use or need by either donating or throwing it away. If you are feeling especially ambitious, you may even consider having a yard sale, which will help offset the upcoming costs of moving.
Remove knick knacks, picture frames, and books from shelves, put away the things on the kitchen counters, and put items you use everyday in a small container that you can tuck out of sight. This will make your home look more presentable.
If you have any personal items lying about your home, you should put them away for potential buyers. Not everyone shares the same opinion and views on certain topics, so it is best to avoid debates or anything that may turn the potential buyer off. If you want to take that extra little step, go ahead and paint the walls a neutral color.
Make sure you sort out all of your various storage places, including closets. People who are looking through your house will look in all of these places, so make sure they are tidy. You need to have your home looking as good as possible. Put everything away neatly and don't have anything odd in view.
Lastly, you should go out of your way to make the outside of your home look presentable. This includes cutting the grass, touching up any paint, and ensuring the gardens look good.
Try to make your place as attractive as possible. It should feel like a place prospective buyers want to buy. Remove anything that may make them second guess their purchase, especially very personal items, like photos, so they can imagine what it would be like as their new home.

A compostumbler can help eliminate any back pain you may experience from hand turning your homemade fertilizer. Because you need to turn your organic matter every week, you may get aches and pains in your arms and back. When the pile you are mixing gets large the pain gets worse.
Making your own compost is a great way to recycle your yard and food waste and turn them into a high quality soil addition, yet for various reasons not many people make their own humus. Studies have shown that one average household has seven hundred pounds of material a year that can create a great fertilizer. However, most of this matter ends up in a landfill.
You probably know that having healthy, nutrient rich soil is important to your garden. When your recycle your grass clippings, dry leaves and dead plants, plus food scraps you can make your own soil conditioner. You will have less garbage, save a lot of money on purchasing fertilizers and your garden will grow better just by this one process. It might sound easy but sometimes you do not have the time or the health to take care of a compost heap. If you get a compostumbler you can do all of the above with a minimal amount of work.
There are other justifications for having a compostumbler other than the relief of aches and pains. Some towns or cities put restrictions on having an exposed compost heap. If this is the case where you live the only way you will be able to recycle your plant and food waste is by having a closed compostumbler.
Another benefit of a container for recycling your plant and food waste is not having to worry about the animals getting into your garbage and making a mess. Or your neighbors complaining about the mess and odor that can come from your yard.
Studies show that keeping your recyclables in a compostumbler help them to decompose faster than if they were left outside uncovered. The color and the material of the tumbler create more heat inside and this causes the material to decompose faster. Plus, the aeration is better when you are turning the tumbler as opposed to turning a pile with a pitchfork.
Compostumbler come in sizes for all needs. If you live in an area with a small yard or you do not have a lot of food scraps or plant material to recycle you can by a small unit that will serve you well. If you have a large garden with a large yard, you can get a big unit that is easy to use. When you want a constant supply of humus, you can get a tumbler that has two separate to fill. When one side is full just start on the other one and you will have your constant supply of great fertilizer.
Adding compost to your soil is one of the best things you can do. Your plants, vegetables and flowers will all be healthier and larger when you have a good soil conditioner. If you find that because of restrictions from your town or the pain of taking care of a humus pile is too much for you, you need to consider a compostumbler.

How To Give A Face Lift To Your House Windows

You just moved into a new home and you decide you want to beautify your house windows. So you will need to decide how you want to deal with each window. Will you purchase fabric and make curtains or purchase shades or blinds? Each window can be treated different than the ones in the previous rooms.
Deciding to follow the Betty Boop theme of your dishes, you purchase Betty Boop motorcycle fabric. Then because it has a black background that makes it quite dark for a kitchen, you also purchase some red and white polka dot fabric to contrast. The polka dots will brighten up the room.
You find burgundy velveteen to use for the living room drapes. The velveteen hangs well and looks elegant. Light comes through the fabric to lighten the room, but they keep the chill out. Tying the room together is a matching runner on the coffee table. Having finished this room you move onto the bedrooms.
Looking through the fabric you find a real pretty print in sage green and white that looks like it came from the 19th century era. It is a nice country print and on sale. Next to it is the same print pattern only it is in black and white instead of the green and white. You grab them both planning to use the sage in your room to match your quilt and the black one in the spare room.
The sewing room has doors similar to the living room doors so will need a floor length drape. This room is painted blue so a light cotton fabric with white or light blue background would work in here. This room is used for sewing so a lighter fabric would be better to let in more light.
Looking out on the pool is the patio. The whole room is windows. This room gets a lot of use, especially during the summer so vertical blinds are best in here as they are the easiest to deal with. During the summer they can be opened or raised to watch the children playing in the pool. On winter nights or rainy days they can be closed to keep out the gloom.
So these are the decorations for your house windows. Curtains can be washed for upkeep and are somewhat inexpensive. When you want to change your window treatments again it will not cost too much to replace the curtains, or to add a contrasting valance.
