Electric Log Splitters Have Their Advantages
Consider this: With an electric log splitter, a hydaulic cylinder and sharp edge, connected to the electric motor take the place of an axe or maul. A piece of wood is placed on the splitter and the hydraulics for the wood through the sharp edge, splitting the piece of wood in two, with no effort from the user. Often a wood splitter is able to exert 10 to 25 tons of pressure, which can easily split a piece of wood and make it ready for storing.
While most often a gas engine is used to power log splitters, an electric unit requires no mixing of fuel and oil, and is easier to store. This assumers, of course, that you have an electrical outlet nearby. Log splitters really are a time-saver, but more than that, they make a tough job into a much easier job. Be sure, however, that you learn how to use this power tool in a safe manner.
