All About McCulloch Chainsaws - One of the Best
The first model was called the 5-49, and required two people to use. However, it was lighter and offered more horsepower than pretty much any other two man saw on the market. It was followed by McCulloch's first one man chainsaws. These were some of the first saws of this type that could be handled by only one person, and it opened the way to a number of new markets. Chainsaws were no longer as cumbersome, and could be used outside of major wood cutting operations.
1968 saw the introduction of the Power Mac 6, a saw that weight only eight and a half pounds, even when fully fueled. That made it the lightest chainsaw in the world at that time. However, these saws were still intended for serious professional use. It wasn't until 1972, when McCulloch introduced the Mini Mac 1, an affordable saw for non-professionals, that chainsaws were readily available to homeowners and other casual users. That really changed the way that cutting wood went for a lot of people across North America.
That year, the company also introduced its first electric powered chainsaws, as well as hedge trimmers, string trimmers and blowers, more of which were added to the product line through the 1980s. The company made another move in 1988, this time to Tucson, Arizona. North American production for this company was purchased by a Taiwanese manufacturer in the late 1990s, but the quality of the saws remains consistent.
Gasoline powered chainsaws from McCulloch are full of features to help buyers experience easy, trouble free use for many years, without concern about safety or handling problems. Small saws, like the MS 1432, are great for trimming small to medium branches and trees. This saw has a fourteen inch bar and a 32cc engine, as well as a chain brake for safety purposes. The automatic oiler makes chain and bar lubrication extremely easy.
For bigger jobs, you can choose one of McCulloch's sixteen inch saws, with 35cc engines and an antivibration system for smooth operation and comfort. The MS 1838AV offers and eighteen inch bar and a 38cc engine, again with an anti-vibration system and chain brake. This is a good saw for more frequent use and for tasks that a smaller, less powerful saw just can't deal with. These are just a few of the great saws available from McCulloch, of course. There are plenty of other models you can check out to see if they have the right one for you.
